Thank you so much for sending samples of your cleansing cream and moisturiser to my friend in Newcastle. He sent them airmail registered to me, and I am delighted. I have used them for only a few days, but have had no reaction so far, and the redness of my cheeks is calmingdown. I shall definitely be taking your internet site address and the slip you sent with the parcel to my dermatologist when I see him again in a few weeks time and have placed an order....My problem was not just rough reddened skin like my friend's (which doesn't swell) but my face swelled up like a tomato when I put moisturisers onto it. We started our Rosacea website in 2000 with the aim of exchanging information and trying to offer support. But the most frequent theme from our correspondents was the need for skin care products that would not further irritate their rosacea prone skin. And so began years of testing of ingredients on my own skin, testing of formulae on volunteers and development by a leading UK laboratory reknowned for natural skin care products. In 2004 we were proud to announce our CALMIN™ Rosacea skin care range.

ROSACEA INTRODUCTION
Rosacea is a different condition to the more common Acne vulgaris and the two are often confused. Rosacea is much less well diagnosed than acne vulgaris, a frequent misconception being that the red face of Rosacea sufferers is mistaken for acne or due to a “healthy” outdoor complexion or worse, and very insulting for many, alcohol abuse. Many people see their Doctors for years with other complaints, without rosacea being diagnosed. Often if it is diagnosed Doctors have little knowledge of trigger factors that worsen the condition and may even prescribe inappropriate treatments such as steroid creams. Often the facial flushing of Rosacea may be intepreted as "psychological difficulties" causing further distress and confusion.

What is less frequently observed is the mental stress and anxiety that can accompany Rosacea. Social isolation and depression can follow this underrated disease, that may leave sufferers emotionally and physically scarred for life. Political correctness seems to have entered every aspect of our lives, except where skin complaints are considered. It is still common in the media to hear derogatory remarks and jokes about spotty youths, pizza face, you’ll have heard the rest and I hope it makes you as angry as it does me. If you see someone in the media trying to get cheap laughs about skin problems, make a complaint - I do - it may make them look elsewhere for their "comedy".
